Hvem er vi?
Lyderhorn skolebrass er et skolekorps med brass besetning lokalisert i Bergen Vest.Vi rekrutterer fra blant annet Bjørndalsskogen,Nygårdslien og Kjøkkelvik skole.
Vi består av tre korps.
Aspirantkorpset,som er det første året man spiller
Mellomkorpset som er fra år to tilogmed fire i korpset.
Hovedkorpset som er fra femte året og til man er ferdig med videregående.
Vi er et inkluderende korps som satser på spilleglede,godt vennskap på tvers av alder og musikalsk utvikling.
Vi samarbeider tett med Bergen kulturskole,alle musikanter får en til en undervisning med kvalifiserte lærere i tillegg til fellesøvingen.
Gjennom året deltar vi på forskjellige konkurranser,vi har konserter og vi drar på turer.Ca hvert 6 år drar vi på utenlandstur,denne høsten skal Mellomkorpset og Hovedkorpset til Manchester i England

About us:
Lyderhorn skolebrass is a school band located in the western part of Bergen, Norway. Our band is made up of brass instrumentation with percussion. The band recruits from the tree primary schools; Bjørndalsskogen, Nygårdslien and Kjøkkelvik. The band is divided into three ensembles based on how long the members have played an instrument;
The starter band, where all musicians spend their first year
The junior band where most play for three years
The main band, where they play until the end of the year they turn 19
On many occasions the bands play together, very much to the inspiration of the younger musicians. We also organize social activites allowing members to interact across age, ensemble and instrument groups.
We emphasise the creation of a good social environment where everybody is included. We also have an extensive team with parents supporting the band with musical, logistics and administrative tasks.
Lyderhorn skolebrass is very proud of our partnership with the Bergen School of Music and Arts, a council run school in Bergen. Through this partnership our musicians receive one-to-one tuition from a qualified music teacher on a weekly basis. In addition, many of them participate in smaller ensemble organized by the team of teachers. Most tuition take place at the child’s primary school, or at the School of Music and Arts’ premises in the centre of Bergen. The band also engages musicians directly to supplement the conducting and teaching staff employed by the School of Music and Arts.
Each band season we play concerts, enter contests, fundraise and participate in activities to keep the band active. A highlight of the year is a weekend trip to Stavanger to compete in the national youth championships. The band also tours other countries approximately every 5-6 years.
